Timeless Encounters During the Passion of Christ - Lenten Study Series

2/26/2026

Picture
This Lent, join us for a three-evening reflection series guided by Maria de Ris. Together, we will explore the powerful, intimate moments along Jesus’ journey to the cross—from the loving anointing by Mary of Bethany to the quiet courage of Simon of Cyrene.

Through Scripture, sacred art, and shared conversation, we will consider how these timeless encounters speak to our own lives and discipleship today.

Tuesday, March 10, 17, and 24
7:00-8:30pm, at St. Mark’s

Easter Flowers

2/25/2026

Picture
Orders are now being taken to remember, honor, or give thanks to a loved one this Easter with a beautiful plant for our Altar. Orders must be in to the church office by Sunday. March 29th, with cash or check, made out to St. Mark’s with “Flowers” notation.

Plants may be purchased for $20 each. CLICK HERE to order and pay online. Plants may be picked up following Easter, on April 12-19, or donated and delivered to a fellow parishioner.

A Note  from the Director of Music, Esther Zabinski

2/24/2026

Picture
Hello, St. Mark’s parishioners and visitors! This is actually the first time I’ve written for our weekly email, even though I’ve been the Director of Music here since 2012. I started out as a substitute, liked it so much, and decided to stay! I’m hoping to write more often going forward—to keep you updated and maybe spark a little interest in the music we choose each week for worship.

Some of you may remember that last fall Bob Chappuis brought his drum set into Sunday worship. The response was enthusiastic, so we’re planning another folk/rock style service this coming Sunday, March 1. You’ll hear a couple of hymns that are new to us: All That We Have by Gary Ault, and I Heard the Lord by Jacob Krieger.

As we head into Lent, I’ll also be introducing a new Gospel Acclamation, Turn to Me by John Foley, along with a new Mass setting for the Sanctus and the Fraction Anthem. These come from the Glendalough Mass by Liam Lawton, a setting that “fuses the rich tradition of Celtic folk music with a contemporary Irish feel.” We’ll be using these pieces throughout the Lenten season.

I hope you enjoy these musical offerings! And as always, everyone is welcome to join the Senior Choir—we meet Wednesdays from 7–8 p.m. If you’re interested in the bell choir, just come find me after any Sunday service.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

2/23/2026

Picture
The Prayer Shawl Ministry gathers to knit and crochet shawls, blankets, prayer squares, and more. Each creation becomes a tangible sign of God’s comfort—offered to those who are sick, grieving, celebrating, or simply in need of a little extra warmth.

All are welcome! You’re invited to make a piece for donation or work on your own project. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you’ll find patient teachers, friendly conversation, and plenty of encouragement.

We meet every Wednesday at 7:30pm on Zoom and these Fridays at 10:30am in person at the church:
  • March 13
  • March 27
  • April 10
  • April 24
Come weave a little joy with us. Contact Pat Dent to join in!
