A Note From Rev. Cathy Boyd

6/20/2026

Picture
As we head into the summer and some changes to our Sunday liturgy, I want to fill you in on what we'll be doing. Between this Sunday, June 22nd and July 24, we will use a bulletin format that I have adapted from the Society of St. John the Evangelist.

It is a simple fold-over with a pared-down service. The leaflet includes prayers and responses read by the people. It does not contain the text of the scriptures, printed music, or the Eucharistic prayer. Using different senses allows us new experience in worship.

I realize this may be a little awkward or uncomfortable! Thank you for opening your heart to a new worship experience. If nothing else, it's only temporary! And if for any reason you absolutely must have printed scripture readings, let me know and I can help.

Lastly, but of great importance: a simple, reusable leaflet will allow our wonderful Sandy Chappuis to take it a little easy this summer. Please do be in touch if you have any questions. Love, Cathy

Jesus Has Left the Building!

6/18/2026

Picture
This summer, we invite everyone to participate in a simple and joyful parish-wide project: Jesus Has Left the Building! Where will you encounter God's grace? Where will you see kindness, beauty, welcome, service, healing, or hope? Where will ordinary moments become holy moments? Take a photo, share a story, and/or offer a reflection.

Throughout the summer, you can share your photos and submissions by CLICKING HERE and we will feature them in parish communications.

We hope parishioners of all ages, along with friends and family members, will join in the fun. We look forward to seeing just how far Jesus travels this summer, and even more importantly, where we all discover that God has been all along.

Summer Film Series: Community, Connection, and Conversation – Bottle Shock

6/17/2026

Picture
Wednesday, June 24, TIME CHANGE TO 6:30pm
Join Rev. Cathy as we continue our Wednesday evening film and discussion series exploring themes of community, connection, and the ways our lives touch one another.

This week's film is Bottle Shock (2008), a charming, fictionalized comedy/drama based on the 1976 “Judgement of Paris” where California wines bested French wines in a blind tasting. British wine expert Stephen Spurrier (Alan Rickman) discovers Napa Valley’s Chateau Montelena, run by Jim Barrett (Jim Pullman) and his son Bo (Chris Pine) and puts Napa Valley wines on the world map. The final film, Stranger Than Fiction, will be screened on July 1.

Each film offers a unique perspective on relationships, belonging, and the impact we have on one another, followed by conversation and reflection. Whether you've seen these films before or are discovering them for the first time, come enjoy an evening of fellowship, reflection, and lively discussion. All are welcome.

Ladies’ Group Potluck Dinner Tuesday, July 14 at 6:00pm • Home of Nancy Antico

Join us for a relaxed and joyful summer potluck as we gather one last time before our break until the fall. Bring your favorite dish and beverage to share, and enjoy an evening of good food, easy conversation, and the gift of being together.

This is a wonderful opportunity to invite a friend, neighbor, or someone who might appreciate a warm introduction to the St. Mark’s community. A simple invitation can go a long way.

Please contact Nancy Antico by June 30 to let her know you’ll be joining us.

June is Pride Month!

6/15/2026

Picture
As we celebrate Pride Month, we are pleased to share our new welcome signs that have been placed throughout the St. Mark's campus. These signs are more than decorations. They are a visible expression of our parish vision and our commitment to ensuring that all people know they are welcome here. We hope these signs serve as a simple but powerful reminder that St. Mark's strives to be a place of welcome, belonging, and God's abundant grace for all.

Thank You to Our Music Ministry!

6/14/2026

This Sunday marks the final choir anthem before our summer hiatus. We offer our sincere thanks to Esther Zabinski, the members of the choir and bell choir, our guest musicians, and all who have shared their musical gifts throughout the year. Their dedication, talent, and faithful leadership have enriched our worship and filled our services with beauty, joy, and inspiration.

We are grateful for the many hours of preparation and practice that make our music ministry such an important part of life at St. Mark's. We wish everyone a restful summer and look forward to welcoming them back in the fall.

Thank You, Founder's Day Volunteers!

6/14/2026

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make St. Mark's presence at Founder's Day such a wonderful success. We are grateful to the volunteers who set up, staffed, and packed up our booth, as well as to those who donated gift cards for the raffle.

Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to meet and connect with many members of the community. The fishing game was a huge hit with children and families, the weather could not have been better, and Rev. Cathy spent time greeting visitors and sharing information about St. Mark's. Thanks to your generosity, the raffle raised more than $500 in support of our ministries.

Most importantly, the day provided a meaningful opportunity to live into our vision of being a welcoming and connected community. Thank you for helping St. Mark's open its doors, build relationships, and share God's love with our neighbors.

Sock-It-To-Me Sundays

Sock-It-To-Me Sundays - Women’s and Children’s Sock and Underwear Collection
The Confirmation Class is leading the continued collection of new socks and underwear for homeless families. Every size of new socks and underwear is needed for women and children of all ages. Medway house is well-stocked with men’s items and has limited storage.

A collection box is located in the Narthex/Foyer. These donations may seem small, but they are essentials that bring comfort, dignity, and warmth. Toss a package into your cart, bring it to church, and help us sock it to need with love. Thank you for making a difference, one pair at a time!
