Fall Parking Lot Clean-up

10/22/2024

Picture
Jenn Oberlander is looking for people who can use a leaf blower (we will provide one, if you do not own one) to clear off our parking lot and Memorial Garden Walkway. Acorns, pinecones and pine needles can make the walk to the church slippery and dangerous.

If we clean it once a week, it takes about 1-2 hours. Jenn is looking to create a schedule of volunteers for the season. Please contact Jenn Oberlander if you can help out. (A full Fall Clean-Up will be scheduled for a later date.)

Bernstein's Mass

10/11/2024

Picture
The Spiritual Life Team at Trinity, Wrentham invites you to attend a listening and discussion presentation of Leonard Bernstein's Mass. We will meet in Trinity's parish hall on four successive Sunday afternoons at 2 pm. The presenter is Rick Duthe, Director of Music at Trinity.

The outline of the program is:
  •  Sunday, October 20 Introduction:  The Roman Catholic Mass and the Episcopal Service of Holy Eucharist: Connections and Differences
  • Sunday, October 27: Listening and Discussing: Part 1 of Bernstein's Mass
  • Sunday, November 3: Listening and Discussing: Part 2 of Bernstein's Mass
  • Sunday, November 10: Viewing and Discussion: A video performance of Bernstein's Mass

Mass was commissioned by Jackie Kennedy for the opening of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on September 8, 1971. Using the text from the Liturgy of the Roman Mass, with additional texts by Stephen Schwartz and Leonard Bernstein, the questions and issues raised by the work are still relevant more than fifty years later.

Come and experience this powerful "Theater Piece for Singers, Players and Dancers" by one of America's most prominent musicians. You are invited, no matter your religious background or where you might be on your spiritual journey. The very nature of this work is to encourage the continuing search for meaning in our spiritual lives.
