Ministry Moment

9/29/2026

Picture
Each month, we will highlight one of the ministries that supports the life of St. Mark’s. This month, we are featuring the Stewardship Committee as our 2027 Annual Appeal, We Are Becoming, continues.

Stewardship is about much more than raising money. At its heart, it is about helping all of us think intentionally about how we use the gifts God has entrusted to us, including our time, talents, and financial resources, in support of the life and mission of St. Mark’s.

The Stewardship Committee helps guide our annual giving efforts, plans the Annual Appeal, develops materials and communications, encourages participation, and helps tell the story of how generosity makes ministry possible. It also works to keep stewardship connected to the larger vision of St. Mark’s rather than treating it as something that happens only once a year.
This year’s Annual Appeal theme, We Are Becoming, reflects that broader purpose. Over the coming weeks, we will be invited to think about how we are becoming a more vibrant and inclusive community, a community that serves, people growing in faith, and a church ready for tomorrow. Our pledges help provide the foundation that allows those hopes to become reality.

The committee is also a place for creativity, storytelling, planning, and new ideas. You do not need to be a fundraising expert or have a financial background to take part. If you enjoy helping people understand the impact of their giving, thinking about how we communicate our mission, or finding meaningful ways to encourage participation, there may be a place for you on the Stewardship Committee.

Interested in learning more or joining us? Please contact Jenn Oberlander ([email protected]) or Amy Van Dell ([email protected]) or Lisa Conroy ([email protected]). We would love to have you be part of the conversation.

And as our Annual Appeal continues, we invite everyone to prayerfully consider their 2027 commitment (submit your pledge online by CLICKING HERE) and, add a leaf to our We Are Becoming Community Tree (submit online by CLICKING HERE). We hope you will join us on Sunday, October 25thfor Pledge Sunday and Celebration Brunch, when we will gather and bless our pledges during the service and give thanks for this community and celebrate what comes next at brunch.
