Actively and visibly engage with our broader community by serving and advocating for all in need

Outreach at St. Mark’s

Outreach is one of the heartbeats of St. Mark’s. It is how we extend Christ’s love beyond our walls—caring for neighbors, supporting families, and responding to needs both near and far. Our mission is to serve locally, regionally, and globally, and to invite every member of our parish to take part in this meaningful work.

We are always exploring new ways to support those in need and to partner with community organizations that share our commitment to compassion and justice. Your ideas, your energy, and your presence help this ministry grow, and new members are always warmly welcomed.

Foxboro Food Pantry
St. Mark’s collects canned goods, dry goods, and toiletries for the Foxboro Food Pantry, offering steady support to individuals and families in our community. Donations are gathered continuously and are often presented as an offering by our children on the first Sunday of each month. The pantry provides food with dignity and care, and St. Mark’s is proud to be one of its founding partners.

Episcopal Relief & Development
We collaborate with Episcopal Relief & Development, the Episcopal Church’s ministry of disaster relief and long‑term recovery. Over the years, our parish has responded generously to national and global crises, helping provide food, shelter, medical care, and hope to people facing hardship.

One Family: A Mission of Unity
St. Mark’s is one of five Episcopal parishes supporting One Family, a collaborative ministry that brings families together through food, friendship, creativity, and play. Children and parents enjoy a safe, welcoming space to share a meal, make art, play games, and build community. Each household receives a gift bag with essential items not covered by SNAP benefits, and St. Mark’s contributes by providing laundry detergent throughout the year.

Backpack & School Supply Drive
At the start of summer, parishioners generously donate backpacks and school supplies. These are distributed through the Foxboro Discretionary Fund to children in our area, helping them begin the school year with confidence and the tools they need to succeed.

The Giving Tree
Each November and December, the Giving Tree appears in the narthex, decorated with tags inviting parishioners to donate hats, gloves, and mittens. These warm gifts are distributed by the Foxboro Discretionary Fund to neighbors who need them most during the coldest months of the year.

Outreach at St. Mark’s is a ministry of shared hands and open hearts. Every act of kindness—every can of food, every backpack, every warm pair of mittens—helps us live out Christ’s call to love our neighbors. If you feel drawn to be part of this work, your presence would be a blessing.
