SACRED GROUND UPDATE

12/21/2021

Picture
Picture
Sacred Ground is a film and reading based dialogue series created by the Episcopal Church on the history of race, racism, and prejudice in the United States. The curriculum is designed for small group participation, and nationwide, there are more than 2000 active Sacred Ground circles currently registered with the Church.

Meeting every two weeks since the middle of October, St. Mark's own Sacred Ground Circle is now halfway through its study. In each session we grapple with a hard, heart-breaking history, yet already the intimacy and safe space of the Circle that has been created by this group of loving, thoughtful participants has yielded opportunities for candor and personal growth.

As we continue this important work navigating the challenging history of racism into early next year and beyond, we ask for your prayerful thoughts.

The Art of the Holy Family and Nativity

Images of the Holy Family and the Nativity have been influenced by theology and scripture throughout history.

Join us Sunday, December 12th 9:00am-9:45am as we discuss the evolution and meaning of how these are portrayed. It will be an opportunity for teaching, conversation and questions. We hope you will join us.

Picture
Every time you shop on Amazon, you could be making a donation to St. Mark’s! This quarter of 2021, these donations added up to over $70. With your help, we can continue to grow this source of revenue and raise $500 this year to help support our programs and ministries!

To sign up, please use this link after you log on to Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/04-2623515

Your purchases will support St Mark’s with .5 cents (1/2 a penny) for every dollar spent - it definitely adds up! This program is year-round, but the holidays are a great time to support this program!!

Happy shopping and thank you!!
