Christmas Offering Supporting Humanitarian Aid in Israel

12/22/2023

Picture
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we are asking for your support through our Annual Christmas Offering. This year’s Offering will be shared with the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, which through the devastation of the Israel-Hamas war has experienced destruction of their churches, schools, and medical facilities that have long provided essential services to the community. The impact of your donation will further be amplified through the matching of half your donation by the Episcopal Church United Thank Offering. For example, your $100 Christmas Offering supports St. Mark’s with $50 and the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem with $100.

This Christmas, let us open our hearts wide and be as generous as we can. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of those facing the challenges of conflict in the Holy Land as well as continue the important work of St. Mark's in our community. Your donation will serve as a beacon of hope, and a testament to the unity and love that defines our St. Mark's community.

There are several ways to participate in our Christmas Offering:

Place your donation in the Offering Plate during any of the Christmas Eve Services (see service schedule below)
CLICK HERE to make an online donation,
Mail your contribution to St. Mark’s at 116 South Street, Foxboro, MA 02035 before December 31st.

May the spirit of Christmas guide your hearts as you consider giving and may the love of Christ shine brightly through your generosity. Thank you for joining us in supporting this important work. We look forward to seeing you this Christmas Season at one of our many services.

This year’s last gathering will be on Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30pm in the common room on the first floor. We can also be reached on Zoom. Contact us for link.

The theme: How Artists Portrayed Matthew and Luke’s Descriptions of Jesus Nativity.
We’ll read the fragments from Luke and Matthew Gospels relating to Jesus’ birth, the adoration of the Magi and shepherds, the flight to Egypt and the presentation of Jesus in the Temple. We’ll also look at paintings of these events from different epochs and artistic styles.

Small refreshments and drinks are provided. All are warmly welcome!

If you have any questions, please contact Maria de Ris, Eric Bridgham, or the church office.

Special coffee and conversation this Sunday

12/3/2023

Picture
You are warmly welcome to join for a special coffee and conversation this Sunday 12/10. We will be "Praying Outside the Box." What does this mean? We'll have a table set up where you can come and write/draw/express messages of support for prayers that our community has shared for this purpose over the past month or so.

We'll provide the paper, prayers, and writing utensils - you provide the love for our community members! At the end, we will put the prayers back in the box, this time with all the supportive messages for the submitters to stop in and read. Looking forward to seeing you! Please contact Caroline Hunter or the church office with any questions.
