Prayer Shawl Ministry

5/29/2025

Picture
The Prayer Shawl Ministry Group will not meet on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. We will meet in person at St. Mark's on Friday, May 30 in the Common Room. We have been working on prayer squares and other project and will attach prayer cards to the squares at our in-person meeting on the 30th.

Knitters and crocheters from Trinity and St. Marks (and beyond!) — as well as all looking to learn or brush up their skills — are welcome and invited to join us! We are planning to meet in person once a month, in addition to our weekly Monday night Zoom meetings.

Centering Prayer Group

5/28/2025

Picture
St. Mark's Peace Group would like to welcome all interested members of St. Mark's and Trinity to participate in our newly forming Center Prayer meeting. We meet on Saturday mornings at 10:00am in St. Mark's sanctuary.

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of Christian silent prayer which deepens our relationship with God, the Indwelling Presence ... a prayer in which we can experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to deepen that relationship.

Did you know that every congregation is supposed to have an archivist of record? Andy Jobin has graciously accepted the call to care for St. Mark's history and memories.

If you find yourself doing some deep cleaning and discover photos or other documents related to St. Mark's please leave them for Andy in the "Archives" mailbox outside of the sacristy!

Together with Pride, Foxboro

Last year The Marylin Rodman Performing Arts Center, The Boyden Library, and other Foxborough organizations, including representatives from The Collaboration of St. Mark's & Trinity, Bethany Congregational Church, The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, and The Unitarian Universality Church of Foxboro gathered to share and discuss our desire to celebrate inclusivity and diversity in order to educate, support, and elevate Foxborough's LGBTQ+ community. During the month of June a variety of events will be taking place throughout Foxborough.

Join Episcopalians in a witness for love and joy during Pride celebrations this June. The hope is for the Diocese of Massachusetts to have large and visible delegations of LGBTQ+ people and allies walk, march, sashay (take your pick!) in Pride celebrations across eastern Massachusetts. All are welcome to attend any Pride celebration; and, to have more fun and be with others in the diocese, consider joining one of these:

Central Region deaneries (Alewife, Boston Harbor, Charles River, Neponset River) are encouraged to participate in the Boston Pride for the People parade on Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. (meeting up near Copley Square). Bishop Julia Whitworth will be at this Pride event, riding in a convertible!

Northern and Western Region
Concord River: Acton-Westford Pride, Saturday, June 21
Merrimack Valley: Newburyport Pride, Saturday, May 31; Lowell Pride, Saturday, June 7
Mystic Valley: TBD
North Shore: Salem Pride, Saturday, June 28; Topsfield Pride, Sunday, June 1

Southern Region
Cape and Islands: Provincetown Pride, Saturday, June 7; Orleans Pride, Saturday, June 14
Mt. Hope-Buzzards Bay: New Bedford Pride, Saturday, June 7
South Shore: Quincy Pride, Sunday, June 8
Taunton River: TBD
